Bernice M. Raybourn MARION-Bernice M. Raybourn, 97, of Marion passed away at 9:50 AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Community of Christ Church in Marion. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is handling the arrangements. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to Community of Christ Church or the Arthritis Foundation; envelopes will be available during the service or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Bernice was born September 14, 1911 in Johnson County, Illinois to Jasper and Elizabeth Simmons. She married Carl W. Raybourn on July 4, 1931 in Jonesboro; he preceded her in death on November 7, 1997. Survivors include niece, Lu Queen; great nieces, Emma Lou Garrison, Debbie Waldrop and Beverly Knepper; great nephews, Jerald Kobler, Carl Kobler and Dean Keller; great great nieces and nephews, Tatia Strang, Jared Garrison, Justin Waldrop, Bryan Waldrop, Trey Waldrop, Rhett Kobler and Janell Kobler; and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; several brothers and sisters; niece, Jerry and Clarence Kobler; and great nephews, Bryan Keller and Fred Kobler. Bernice was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ Church in Marion. She was a homemaker and a mother to many. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading and working crossword puzzles.
