Beatrice "Bea" L. Smith-Salto

February 17, 1916 — September 11, 2015

Marion- Beatrice "Bea" L. Salto, age 99, of Marion, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Marion. Bea was born in Charleston, Missouri on February 17, 1916, the daughter of Gilbert “Gill” and Eunice (Magness) Holder. She married David E. Smith in 1952 and he preceded her in death. She later married Tony Salto. He also preceded her in death in 1966. Bea worked as a waitress, but more importantly, as a homemaker. With Bea’s 99 years came much reminiscing and she shared so much of this with those around her. She never wavered in her faith in God or in the love and dedication to her family. Bea will be missed greatly. Survivors include- Son- Bobby Joe and Barbara Smith of Charlotte, NC Son- Garry Smith of Marion Son- Jerry L. Smith of Hurst Grandchildren- Krystal and Jeremy Mofield Kim and Bill Mayer Kevin and Samantha Smith Robert and Leslie Smith Greg and Jennifer Smith Brent and Merissa Taft Tonya and Wyatt Slater Herbie and Kim Smith 22 Great Grandchildren 5 Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, son- Gene Smith, two brothers, and six sisters. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds with Rev. Don Colson officiating.
