Barry Michael Jackson, 83, of Marion, Illinois, passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side. Born on September 26, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Barry was the beloved son of the late Marvin and Lula Jackson.
A hardworking and skilled welder, Barry retired after 25 years of service at Reynolds Metal in McCook, Illinois. He enjoyed spending his retirement pursuing his passions for antique cars, freshwater fishing, and singing country karaoke. Barry was a proud member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the American Legion, organizations that meant a great deal to him.
On November 17, Barry married the love of his life, Fauniel (Chancey) Jackson. Together they shared 31 years of marriage, creating countless cherished memories.
Barry is survived by his loving wife, Fauniel; his son, Glenn (Patty) Jackson; his sister, Brenda Martin; and his brothers, Bobby (Beth) Jackson and Kenneth Jackson. He is also survived by his four adored grandchildren: Angella, Michelle, Brandon, and Katie. Barry was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Margaret (Douthitt) Jackson; his son Michael Jackson, and several other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Blue Funeral Home under the direction of Binkley-Ross. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, located at 1704 North Court Street in Marion, Illinois. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor John Holst. Burial will take place at Maplewood Cemetery.
