Barbara Ann Melvin

Barbara Ann Melvin, age 93, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023 at her home in Marion, Illinois.

Barbara was born February 13, 1930 in West Frankfort, Illinois, a daughter of Raymond James and Katie Ann (Williams) Melvin. She married the love of her life, Cecil Glen Melvin on December 23, 1946 in Herrin. He preceded her in death in January of 2003.

She is survived by three children- Glenda Melvin, Cecil Keith (Marianne) Melvin, and Daniel Ray (Doreen) Melvin; eight grandchildren- Rebecca Schryer, Heather Clarida, Blake Melvin, Elizabeth Melvin, Connor Melvin, Samantha Lambert, Jake Swanson and Chip Rosenthal; her great grandchildren- Brooke Schryer, Jonathan Clarida, Gavin Schryer, Jessica Clarida, and George Lambert; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her spouse Cecil Glen Melvin; one son, Darrell Glen Melvin; one grandchild, Shelby Rae Melvin; her parents, Katie Ann (Williams) and Raymond James Melvin; and five siblings, James Melvin, Daphna Robinson, Neatha Ross, LaVeta Craig, and Elaine Koster.

The family will hold private memorial services at a later date. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements.
