Barbara Jean Herren

Marion-Barbara Jean Herren, age 84, of Marion, passed away at 12:53am on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at her Sunshine Gardens residence in Marion. Barbara was born in Marion on October 24, 1933, the daughter of Harry and Grace (Clendenin) Troxel.  She married Lawrence H. Herren in Marion in 1954.  Together, they shared fifty years of marriage, until his passing on March 31, 2005. Survivors include: Son and daughter-in-law- Mark and Patricia Herren of Creal Springs Daughter and son-in-law- Mary Kay and Phillip Swan of Stonefort Grandchildren- Kathy and Aaron Henry Erik and Valerie Bethel Kyle and Abigail Swan Mara Swan Great Grandchildren- Alex and Ben Henry Braden Bethel Brother- Gary and Sue Troxel of Creal Springs She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband- Lawrence. Barbara was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marion.  She was a homemaker. She and her husband were Christians and made sure their children and grandchildren were Christians, the most important thing in their life was to have a Christian family. When you think of our parents, think of this saying; `As For Me And My House, We Will Serve The Lord`. The family would like to extend a heartfelt "thank you" to the caregivers and staff at Sunshine Gardens for their excellent care and love shown to their mother. It is greatly appreciated. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Jeff Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion.
