Barbara Dean Schuetz

Goreville- Barbara Dean Schuetz, age 69, of Goreville, passed away at 11:20am on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at her home in Goreville. Barbara was born in in Johnson County on February 5, 1946, the daughter of Ernie and Hazel (Sullivan) Girtman.  She married Homer August Schuetz, Jr. on July 10, 1965. He survives in Goreville. Mrs. Schuetz was an active member of Busby Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and attended regularly until her death. Barbara was a homemaker, full time mother and grandmother, and loved to cook for her family. Survivors include her husband- Homer August Schuetz Jr of Goreville Son- Brent August (Keesha) Schuetz Daughter- Brenda Kay (Eric) Smart Daughter-In-Law- Lynn Schuetz Grandchildren- Noah, Beau, Jessica, Zane, Rhet, Brilee, and Cade Schuetz Jayla Smart Aunt- Verna Mae Billingsley She was preceded in death by her parents, son- Brian Lee Schuetz, and brother- Lavon Girtman. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Busby Chapel Church in Goreville with Rev. Kenny Blumenstock and Rev. R.G. Null officiating.  Burial will follow at Busby Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Busby Chapel Church in Goreville.  Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
