Marion-Barbara Ann Clendenin, 80, passed away at 3:33pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at her home.
Barbara was born on February 27, 1934 at St. Andrews Hospital in Murphysboro to Cleo L. and Sarah A. (Butcher) Radford. She married Curtis R. Clendenin on July 12, 1952 at First Baptist Church in Marion. Together they shared 31 years until his passing on April 4, 1984.
Barbara’s working career was as a bookkeeper for Laura Simpson, Marlo & Marlo, George Jones Excavating and most recently for Short Brothers Construction. She became a member at First Baptist Church as a young girl when her parents moved to Marion from Carterville. Her priorities were God, attending church, family and friends and serving the Lord. Through the years she took an active role in serving her church in many ways but those dearest to her heart were the Women Missionary groups, the building committee and sending cards, using words of encouragement.
