Marion-Allen Spiller, 70, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at his home.
Allen was born on January 31, 1950 in Carbondale to Frederick and Genevieve (Furlow) Spiller. He married Marie Leonard on July 5, 1975 in Marion.
Allen served in the U.S. Marine Corp during Vietnam. He was a retired cook at the VA Hospital. Allen was a lifetime member of the Elks and the VFW post 1301; a member of the Masonic Temple and a 32nd degree Shriner. Allen loved to fish and be outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 2pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Jimmy Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion. Military Rites will be performed by the Marion VFW and American Legion with assistance from the National Guard. Visitation will be on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Marion VFW or St. Jude Children’s Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
