Allen Rix

Carbondale-Allen Rix, 55, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Allen was born on September 19, 1962 in Marion to Herbert and Peggy (Neber) Rix. He married Sherry Ryals. Allen served in the U.S. Air Force. He loved to fish and enjoyed working with Veterans and working in his garden. Allen especially loved spending time with family and friends. Survivors include: Wife-Sherry Rix of Carbondale Son-Joseph Allen and Pia Rix of Junction City, KS Sister-Sherry and Sonny Franks Brother-Tom and Kathy Rix Sister-Stephanie Modglin and Jason Brimm Loving step children: Randy and Maria Broderick Patti and John Block Grandchildren: Ayanna Rix Xavier Rix James Broderick Sydney Broderick Beau Broderick Lennon Block Nieces and nephews: Shelby Modglin Anthony and Padra Franks Aadam and Adrienne Franks Aaron Franks Brandon and Brittnie Rix Ryan Rix Austin Modglin Many great nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his father Herbert C. Rix; mother, Peggy Sue Miller and sister, Junellen Rix Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 1pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Darrell Wimberly officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home. Casual dress is requested
