Roger Dale Odom, age 74, of Marion, passed away at 6:50pm on Friday October 16, 2020 at his home with his family by his side.

Roger was born on September 12, 1946 in Marion, IL to Teddy and Mary Ruth (Boles) Odom.  He married Leslie Anderson June 15, 1991in Havana, IL and she survives.

Roger proudly served in the United States Navy. After the Navy, Roger served his community as the Williamson County Deputy Sheriff and was a pastor for numerous churches.  Roger was a member of Whiteash Free Will Baptist Church. Roger would want you to know he loved Jesus and his family. He will see his family again someday. If you want to see yours again someday, accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Roger will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Leslie Odom of Marion; daughter, Teresa (friend, Tim Owens) Odom of Marion; son, Michael (Shannon) Odom of Goreville; step-son, Ronnie (Lisa) Robinson of Pittsburg; 6 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren and 1 on the way; brother, James Keith (Sharon) Odom of Crab Orchard; brother, Jeff (Gayle) Odom of Crab Orchard; sister, Marsha (Rex) Huff of Crab Orchard; sister, Deanna Odom of Crab Orchard; numerous nieces and nephews, mother-in-law, Sylvia Anderson of Pittsburg; sister-in-law, Carla (Kevin) Bailey of Pittsburg; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Mike) Stoner of Goreville.

Roger was proceeded in death by his parents and a brother-in-infancy, Randall Odom.

Roger’s wishes were to be cremated.  No services will be held.  Blue Funeral Home is assisting the family with final arrangements. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Wildcat Christian Academy of Gallup, NM and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ PO Box 411/ Marion, IL 62959

    I am so sorry for your loss. You and the family are in my thoughts and prayers.
    I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing Roger but I’m sure he was a sweetheart just like you! Just think what a day it’ll be when you see each other again! Love you dear friend!
