Sometimes life isn’t what we expect it to be. All the ups and downs take us onto journeys we would never have imagined taking-some fantastic, some not so much. It’s the same for all of us. It’s apart of life and it’s not always easy. One constant that has helped me in my journey has been the love of a good family. I love my family. I truly believe we have been so blessed to be a part of a family that, no matter what, loves and accept you for who you are. One that takes the good with the bad, and even if they don’t agree with you, never stops loving you. My Uncle Richie always made me feel loved and I will cherish my memories of him always.

Richie was one of my oldest and best friends. We had an amazing life journey together. His death has made me reflect on so
many things. I feel the need to join Denise and the rest of his family at his memorial, and so I will be making the 5 hour trek to Goreville from Chicago to be there. I think Richie would want me there.
