Alice Mae Pease, 84, of Marion, quietly left us at 12:10pm on Thursday, July 16, 2020.

Alice was born September 30, 1935. She was an avid crafter and loved to play the piano. She started and ran her own ceramics business, The Chalk Garden, from her home for over 30 years. Alice had an amazing skill of making things beautiful and you could see the love she put into each and every piece she made. Her ceramics were sought after in many craft shows and fairs. She loved flowers and made the most gorgeous arrangements. The absolute joy of Alice’s life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There’s nothing she wouldn’t do or give for any one of them.

Alice had such a loving, faithful soul, paired with a no-nonsense personality and she was loved and looked up to by so many people. Her influence will remain forever in the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert Sturgeon and David Sturgeon; four grandchildren, Jon (April) Sturgeon, Natasha (James) Page, Jesse Sturgeon, and Amanda (Joey) Robinson; and four great-grandchildren, Lauren and Owen Sturgeon, and Lillyana and Alice Page; two brothers, Bud Miller, and Steve Miller; and two sisters, Marilyn Roberts, and Donna Harrison.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Lannis and Leatha Miller; daughter in law, Melanie Rae Sturgeon and sisters, Barbara Astin, Cheryl Cantrell and Linda Miller.

A graveside service is scheduled for 10am on Friday, July 24, 2020 at the Creal Springs Cemetery, In Creal Springs, IL with Rev. Keith Owens officiating. Family and Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Flowers may be sent to Blue Funeral Home/1704 North Court/Marion, IL 62959.

Condolences and donations can be sent to Robert Sturgeon/1600 Peterson Ave/Johnston City, IL 62951.

I have many good memories of aunt Alice. Her laugh always brought me joy and she certainly always spoke her mind!
