Janie Dippie

Marion-Janie Marie (Boatright) Dippie, 98, passed away on September 3, 2019 at Angel Acres nursing home in Marion.

Janie was born to Hugh and Courtney (Jones) Boatright on March 15, 1921.  She was married to Bob Dippie with whom she shared 56 years of marriage until his passing on November 15, 1992.

Janie is survived by one daughter and son in law, Barbara Jane and Gary Pulley of Marion; grandsons, Eric Pulley, David Dippie and Steve Stearns; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her only son, Bobby Joe Dippie on February 20, 2001 and grandson Darren Lee Pulley on August 8, 2015.  Also preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Lloyd, Leamon and Hugh and three sisters, Ruby, Jewell and Bessie.

Janie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and going to garage sales.  She loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals baseball games.

Per her request, there will be no services.  Burial will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery.  Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.

She also requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Darren L. Pulley Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o The John A. Logan Foundation.  Donations will be accepted at the funeral home.

    Aunt Janie was the last living of my Aunt and Uncles, but she was the most wonderful. She had a great family life and she gave everyone else the same.
