Leo Whitehead

Marion-Leo Whitehead, 84, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at his home.

Leo was born on April 16, 1934 in Spillertown to John Randolph and Sadie (Stroud) Whitehead. He married Virginia (Jack) Whitehead on February 7, 1964 in Marion.  She preceded him in death on May 14, 2013.

Leo was a UMWA Coal Miner. He enjoyed coon hunting and was a long time member of Spillertown Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Gayla Marshall; son, Dennis Whitehead; sisters, Lenora Tanner and Loudene McGuire and brothers, Puck Whitehead, Bill Whitehead and Bob Whitehead.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 2pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Barry Steed officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Sunday from 12pm until the time of service at the funeral home.

For those who prefer memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
