MARION-Dewie L. McGee, 76, of Marion passed away at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Oak Grove Gospel Mission Church, south of Marion with Reverend Jim Jackson and Reverend Greg Eastman officiating. Visitation will from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, April 20, 2007 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will be at Wolf Creek Cemetery, south of Marion.
Mr. McGee was born on February 5, 1931 in Herrin, Illinois to Loren and Oma (Cleaver) McGee. He married Margaret Maxwell on August 9, 1958 in Flint, Michigan; together they shared 48 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Marion; his children, Del and Patsy McGee of Marion, Michele and Andy Bowling of Orient, Lorna and Greg Murphy of Thompsonville, and Regina and Michael Bertolozzi of West Frankfort; grandchildren, Heidi, Dale, Jeremy, Jan, Brittney, Amanda, Jonathon, Tiffany, Megan, Cody, Josh and Jake; sister, Katherine McDougall of Flint, Michigan; and brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Helen McGee of Russellville, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. McGee was a member of Oak Grove Gospel Mission Church. He was a truck driver for many years, a farmer and an official at the Southern Illinois Raceway. He loved the outdoors, 4-wheeling and fishing.
