GOREVILLE-Peter Detomatis, 88, of Goreville passed away at 10:33 AM, Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at St. Louis University Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, July 8, 2006 at St. John’s Cemetery in Collinsville with Reverend Roger Wright officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, July 7, 2006 at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville.
Mr. Detomatis was born on July 29, 1923 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Martin and Caterina (Bellessa) Detomatis. He married Emma Zada Raymond on March 11, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri; together they shared 45 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife Emma of Goreville; nephew, Martin Chemotti of Collinsville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Gene Peirman of St. Louis; sister-in-law, Edith Burks of Tennessee; nieces Debbie Howard and Barb Peirman; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Anthony Detomatis; sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Geno Chemotti; and niece, Jo Ann Chemotti.
Mr. Detomatis was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the American Legion and the LST (Navy) Association. He served his country with the United States Navy during World War II.
