LaVern “Pete” Peterson
GOREVILLE-LaVern “Pete” Peterson, 78, of Goreville passed away at 9:00 AM, Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Busby Church in Goreville with Reverend Kenny Blumenstock officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 Am, Saturday, November 12, 2005 at the church. Burial will be at Busby Cemetery, Goreville. Memorials may be made to Busby Church; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.
Mr. Peterson was born on October 4, 1927 in Johnson County, Illinois to Richard and Ida (Humphrey) Peterson.
Survivors include sister, Jewell Schwartz of Olmstead; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Claude Peterson, Lee Peterson and Raleigh Peterson; and two sisters, Eula Ice and Velma Wooley.
Mr. Peterson was a member of Busby Church. While growing up he attended school in Buncombe and Goreville. He lived in Johnson County all his life.
