Helen Louise Beasley
CRAB ORCHARD-Helen Louise Beasley, 71, of Crab Orchard passed away at 9:00 PM, Thursday, November 4, 2004 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 7, 2004 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Edward `Shorty` Alsip officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday, November 6, 2004 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ferrell Cemetery, south of Crab Orchard. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the American Cancer Society for Malignant Melanoma Research; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Beasley was born on September 1, 1933 in Johnson County, Illinois to Ebert and Sarah (Casey) Newbold. She married Gilbert Beasley on December 1, 1951 in Marion and he survives. Other survivors include son, Bruce Beasley of Marion; daughter and son-in-law, Rene` and Rodger Morris of Crab Orchard; grandchildren, Amanda and Chris Jones, Nicki Morris and Heather Morris; and three month old great grandson, Noah Christopher Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Walter `Bud` Newbold. Mrs. Beasley was a member of Crab Orchard Center Baptist Church, where she was a past Sunday school teacher and girls in action leader. She was formerly employed by Sangamo Electric, Universal Match Corporation, and Mrs. & Mrs. Roy Campbell. She was most recently a homemaker and devoted her life to her family and to helping others. She served as a past board member of the Crab Orchard Library. She enjoyed camping, genealogy, cooking, gardening and conversing with others.
