MARION-Shelby E. Leonard, 51, of Marion, passed away at 11:59 AM, Thursday, December 16, 2004 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, Marion. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 19, 2004 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Brother J. R. Woods officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, December 18, 2004 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Mr. Leonard was born on June 25, 1953 to Shelby L. and Icie (Wilkerson) Leonard. He married Pamela Leeper and she survives. Survivors include his father and step-mother, Shelby L. and Violet Leonard of Marion; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pearl E. Heltsley, Patricia A. Parton, Marie A. and Allen Spiller, and Wilma D. and Terry Gill all of Marion and Linda S. and Keith Vandiver of Savannah, Tennessee; brothers and sister-in-law, Charles and Chris Leonard of Washington, Illinois and J. C. Wilkerson of West City; nieces and nephews, Shelby Lynn Heltsley, Cheryl Davis, Beth Ann McNeill, Beverly Sloan, Brittany Gill, Lonnie Vandiver, and Jennifer Vandiver; great nieces and nephews, Michael Atwood, David K. Atwood, Ashley Heltsley, Rebecca West, Katelyn West and Hanna Sloan; soul mate and special companion, Shirley Street of Marion; mother-in-law, Shirley Woodis; and special people in his life, Justin and Kayla Brown. He was preceded in death by his mother; brothers, Johnny William Leonard and James Earl Leonard; sister, Icie Fay Leonard; brothers-in-law, Harold Parton and Lynn Heltsley; and nephew, Harold Keith Parton. Mr. Leonard worked as a coal miner and heavy equipment operator. He loved to hunt, fish, woodworking, and working in his flower garden and yard. He was `Everyone`s Friend`.
