Betty Louise Anderson
MARION – Betty Louise Anderson, 85, passed away peacefully at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, with her family comforting her after complications from a stroke and loss of her husband in May, 2011.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 9, 2011 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. The funeral will follow immediately at 1:00PM with the Reverend Tim Ozment, Pastor of Aldersgate UMC, officiating. Interment will be held in Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and/or Disabled American Veterans; Envelopes are available during the services or may be sent C/O Blue Funeral Home, P.O. Betty was born on September 3, 1925 in West Frankfort to Leslie and Ona (Starrick) Kelley. She was a member of the Warder Street Baptist Church in Marion and was raised in the Northern Baptist Church in West Frankfort where she married Second Lt. John T. Anderson, Sr. on February 16, 1945.
She is survived by her two sons, John T “Tom” Anderson, Jr, (wife Vicki), of Marion and Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Terry D. Anderson (wife Cathy), of Divernon; grand- daughter Amy O’Neal (husband Creston) and great –granddaughter Lexi of Casa Grande, AZ; grandson BM2 John T. Anderson, III (wife Michelle) and great grandchildren Hailey, Dylan and Aniston of Edwardsville; granddaughters Emily Anderson of Divernon and Kelley Anderson of Marion and grandson Ian Anderson of Divernon; niece Carol Sue Kelley Weber (husband Bob), of Parker ,Co. She also leaves a large extended family of many cousins, nieces, and nephews; great nieces and nephews and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John T. Anderson on May 21, 2011 after 66 years of marriage, and by her parents and only brother, A. Lavern Kelley.
She attended SIU specializing in Interior Design and operated the former Citadel Office Services on the square in Marion. Her life was supporting her loving family.
