Elvin D. “Al” Hewlett
MARION-Elvin D. “Al” Hewlett, 72, of Marion, passed away at 11:59 AM, Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.
In accordance with his personal wishes there will be no public visitation or funeral. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.
Al was born February 26, 1938 in Herrin to Robert D. and Mary Jane (Belcher) Hewlett. He married Madeline (Farner) Cloud.
Survivors include his wife, Madeline Hewlett of Marion; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Rob Needling of Anna; grandchildren, Jared Blessing and Jenna Blessing both of Anna; sister and brother-in-law, Jeannie and Fred Bierman of St. Louis, Missouri; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Al began his working career with Metropolitan Insurance and later worked in Mobile Home and Automobile sales.
